When we hear the term Wiki, most of us think of the Wikipedia and all of its inherent problems with the validity of information. However, there is a group of analysts and researchers who are using the technology behind the Wikipedia to produce a new kind of analyst information resource. This resource is called Wikibon (www.wikibon.com).
According to the site, Wikibon is:
“A worldwide community of practitioners, consultants, and researchers dedicated to improving the adoption of technology and business systems through an open source sharing of free advisory knowledge.”
The site goes on to say:
“How many so-called experts make you think "I can do better than that?"
Wikibon began as an idea to create great how-to advice, written by millions of people around the world with real experience. We started this project because we felt the guru business was due for a change. “
As our regular readers now, this blog is about changing the business model for the IT and telecom analyst industry. Wikibon is one of those experiments that we hope will be successful and will further “shake up” the status quo.
Hi Jim, thanks for the heads up about Wikibon.
